NIZWA HE Sheikh Saif Bin Mohammed Bin Saif Al Shabibi, Minister of Housing, signed 30 agreements in the Wilayat of Nizwa on Monday to construct 500 houses in a number of wilayats at a cost of more than 18.5 million rials.
The agreements comes within the framework of the social housing programme for low income families, an initiative adopted by the government in a bid to improve the standard of living of the Omani families and assisting them to have social instability by availing them proper housing.
The agreements included the construction of 155 houses in Al Sharqiyah region, 236 in Al Wusta region, 79 in Al Dhakhiliyah region, 24 in Muscat governorate and six in Al Batinah region.
The agreements include construction of 155 houses worth 6,024,910 rials in a number of wilayats of Al Sharqiyah region. They include construction of 62 houses in the Wilayat of Sur at a cost of 3,601,427 rials, six houses in Belad Sur at a cost of 141,470 rials, six houses in the Wilayat of Sur (first stage) at a cost of 196,133 rials, seven houses in the wilayat of Sur at a cost of 117,746 rials, seven houses in the Wilayat of Sur (second stage) at a cost of 195,818 rials, five housing units in the Wilayat of Ja’alan at a cost of 155,451 rials, four housing units at Belad Sur in the Wilayat of Sur at a cost of 117,873 rials, four housing units in Belad Sur in the same wilayat at a cost of 126,971 rials.
The agreements also included seven houses in Al Khaba village (first stage) in the Wilayat of Dima Wa Al Tyeen at a cost of 164,893 rials, eight houses in Khaba village (second stage) at a cost of 177,622 rials, seven housing units in the Wilayat of Sur (third stage) at a cost of 225,435 rials, four housing units in the Wilayat of Dima Wa Al Tyeen at a cost of 173,250 rials, five housing units in the Wilayat of Jaalan (second stage) at a cost of 119,704 rials, five housing units in the Wilayat of Sur at a cost of 116,632 rials, five housing units in the Wilayat of Sur at a cost of 112,356 rials, four housing units in Al Sahel village in the Wilayat of Sur at a cost of 104,840 rials.
Nine agreements were also signed to construct 236 housing units in Al Wusta region at a cost of 7,652,744 rials distributed to Al Wusta region villages. The agreements included the construction of 104 housing units in Al Safi village in the Wilayat of Mahout at a cost of 3,218,684 rials, 37 housing units in Madira village in the Wilayat of Mahout at a cost of 1,188,398 rials, 20 housing units in Sarab village in the Wilayat of Mahout at a cost of 724,528 rials, 30 hosing units at Joba village in the same wilayat at a cost of 904,798 rials, 15 housing units in Al Ajayiz area in the Wilayat of Haima at a cost of 592,236 rials, six housing units in Wadi Al Sail village at a cost of 170,976 rials, eight housing units at the same village at a cost of 227,968 rials.
The agreements also included the construction of a public reception hall and a mosque at the centre of the Wilayat of Haima at a cost of 215,250 rials, six housing units at Al Sail village in the Wilayat of Mahout at a cost of 155,940 rials, five housing units in Al Sail village in the Wilayat of Mahout at a cost of 141,095 rials, five housing units in Al Sail village in the same wilayat at a cost of 112,867 rials.
Seven agreements were also signed for the construction of 79 housing units, a number of public halls and mosques in a number of villages in Al Dhakhiliyah region at a cost of 4,199,032 rials, distributed onto the wilayats of Bahla and Adam.
The agreements included the construction of 18 housing units, a mosque and a public hall at Al Hafr village in the wilayat of Bahla at a cost of 720,115 rials, 15 housing units, a mosque and a public hall at Al Hashibah village in the Wilayat of Bahla at a cost of 612,244 rials, 11 housing units, a mosque and a public hall at Al Hafir in the Wilayat of Bahla at a cost of 496,308 rials, four housing units, a public hall and mosque at Al Waqibat village in the Wilayat of Nizwa at a cost of 284,630 rials, six housing units, a public hall and a mosque at Tiwi Jiwar village in the Wilayat of Bahla at a cost of 406,516 rials, 11 housing units and a public hall at Seih Al Abyadh village at a cost of 466,252 rials, six housing units and a public hall at Masidarah village in the Wilayat of Bahla at a cost of 360,319 rials, four housing units and a public hall at Al A’Seel village in the Wilayat of Bahla at a cost of 316,390 rials, four housing units and a public hall at Wadha village in the Wilayat of Bahla at a cost of 289,554 rials, a public hall and a mosque at Burhan village in the Wilayat of Adam at a cost of 446,700 rials.
Three agreements were also signed for the construction of 24 housing units at a cost of 656,512 rials at a number of wilayats in Muscat governorate. They included the construction of 5 housing units in the Wilayat of Quriyat at cost of 163,800 rials, four housing units at a cost of 115,500 rials, four housing units in southern Ma’abela in the Wilayat of Seeb at a cost of 115,500 rials, five housing units in the Wilayat of Seeb at a cost of 136,500 rials, six housing units in Ma’abela south in the Wilayat of Seeb at a cost of 125,212 rials.
The agreements also included the construction of six housing units, a mosque, a public hall and Holy Quran Memorisation School at Al Jaw village in the Wilayat of Rustaq at a cost of 239,751 rials.
