English film shooting in Sur with Omanis

MUSCAT An English film featuring international actors including Omani stars Salim Bahwan and Mamoona Al Balushi, Karen Leone from the US will be shot in the scenic Sur (Ras Al Hadd) in early February.

The film is being produced in partnership with Hollywood producer-director Mark Ratering and Jayashree Cine Internat-ional, an Indian film production company represented by Gulab Prem-kumar, according to Mohsin Al Busaidi, Chairman of Siba Art Production and Distribution.

The 90-minute film also features actor Rigine Tolen-tino from the Philippines and a guest appearance by Myanna Buring, who appeared in Lord of the Rings and Grindhouse, which was directed by Quentin Tarantino.

An Indian actor, whose name is yet to be announced, will also be featured in the film. The film is written by James Wagner.

The half-a-million dollar film will be shot in Sur with a professional Indian film crew under K Ramachandra Babu.

The film depicts the story of a group of Asian-Americans, whose vacation is filled with thrills, when they get involved in a mystery surrounding the legend of pirate’s treasure. Photography is scheduled to start early next month and has been approved by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.
