MCCC organises three-day Test match
MUSCAT Shaukat Khan, the founder of Muscat Cricket Coaching Centre (MCCC), organised a three-day Test match from December 29 to 31. This was the first ever Test match organised by MCCC, a press release said on Monday.

The objective of the match was to give the youngsters, who are familiar with the 25-over format played across the schools U-16 and U-19 Junior tournaments, exposure to the longer format of the game. Oman U-16 (40 overs) and U-19 (50 overs) teams who are playing international matches have not played the longer format in any tournaments.

Shaukat Khan thanked the OCC for conducting the event in Al Amerat ground and their continuous support to promote the game in the Sultanate of Oman.

He also thanked the media for the coverage and the sponsors Oasis Water Co. and Iffco Distribution LLC for arranging water/juice and snacks respectively for the entire event.

MCCC Royals and MCCC All Stars led by Gayash Dias and Shezad Khokar respectively were the two teams which took part in the match. MCCC Royals who elected to bat first were bowled out for 237 in 71.5 overs.

Opening batsmen Mayukh Misra 20 (37 balls) and Gimash Dias 23 (75 balls) put up a 59-run partnership while Akshay Jathar top scored with 57 (119 balls) and he was well supported by Gayash Dias 27 (87 balls) and Rohan Menon 33 not out (46 balls).

MCCC All Stars who did well in the bowling department were Biplap Kumar 6-2-10-3, Chaitanya Gandhi 4-2-6-2, Shaaib Parkar 3-0-16-2, AAlam Zaid 11-3-31-1, Miyuru Wickremaratne 8-2-42-1, Mohit Badyani 6-2-16-1 and Brijesh Gandhi 5-3-13-1

MCCC All Stars lost their opener Paritosh Bhatt 13(26 balls) in the 9th over. MCCC All Stars ended day one with a score of 48 in 14 overs with batsmen Miyuru Wickramaratne and Shezad Khokar at the crease on 23 (35 balls) and 5 (15 balls) respectively.
