After the news of the Communist Party of India having its members walk out, the latest bit of news is that a new party called the Marxist Peravai or Marxist Forum was floated on Sunday, which has apparently been formed by more than 300 disgruntled Communist Party of India Marxist activists from across the state. They believe that their differences with the CPM leadership were primarily ideological and therefore they needed to form a new party. The new outfit will conduct its first state conference in Trichy on February 3 and elect its office bearers. From reports, it looks like there are more than 50,000 people queuing up to join this new party.
