| ACCA, IMA body invite research proposals |

MUSCAT The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Research Foundation and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) have jointly invited research proposals for accounting academics and practitioners.
The announcement was made during the American Accounting Association’s (AAA) Annual Meeting in Washington, according to a press release.
Research proposals have been invited in enterprise risk management (ERM), technology enablement and business performance management. They may also consider proposals addressing other relevant management accounting topics. The IMA and ACCA will award up to $100,000 for select projects. Guidelines are available on www.imanet.org/researchfoundation. Deadline for submissions is January 31, 2013.
Announcing the award, Raef Lawson, IMA vice-president of research, said: “As the latest initiative of our strategic partnership with ACCA, we hope to award multiple research projects to advance thought leadership and best practices in the management accounting profession.”
Ewan Willars, ACCA director of policy, said: “The joint call for research supports ACCA’s and IMA’s aim to lead and shape the agenda of the accountancy profession.”
