| Fahd offers Eid prayers at Al Khour Mosque |
MUSCAT HH Sayyid Fahd Bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, performed Eid Al Fitr prayer at Al Khour Mosque in Muscat on Sunday.
Fahd was accompanied by a number of Their Highnesses, their Excellences, undersecretaries, advisers and prominent figures.
His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hamad Al Khalili, Grand Mufti of the Sultanate, led the Eid prayers. He began the sermon with Takbir (Saying God is Great) and glorifying and thanking Allah the Almighty for his blessings.
Khalili spoke about the blessings of the Holy Month of Ramadan for all people. He said some people were blessed by Allah the Almighty when they performed rituals dictated by Allah the Almighty and took the opportunity to change their lives from evil to good, disintegration to righteousness and from darkness to light.
Khalili spoke about the benefits of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
He said fasting during Ramadan is a way to abide by the teachings of the Holy Quran. He highlighted the importance of Zakat.
After the prayer, Fahd received well-wishers. They expressed their best wishes to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, praying to Allah the Almighty to grant His Majesty the Sultan continuous health, happiness and a long life.
Fahd thanked the well-wishers and wished them a happy Eid.
He prayed to Allah the Almighty for the return of similar happy occasions on His Majesty the Sultan and to grant him success for the good of the country and to achieve more progress, peace and stability for Oman and its people.
