| 2 cops forced to drink urine |
SHILLONG A Meghalaya police battalion instructor was removed from duty after he made two recruit constables drink the urine of fellow trainees, police said. The state government on Saturday said strong action will be taken against the accused, if found guilty.
“This kind of inhuman punishment is not allowed to be taken by anyone whether in the police force or anywhere,” Meghalaya Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh said. On Sunday, Pradip Borah, an instructor in the 2nd Meghalaya Police Battalion in Goeragre in West Garo Hills district allegedly forced two recruit constables to drink the urine of fellow trainees, after the duo fought with another recruit during lunch at a community kitchen. Goeragre is around 300km from Shillong. Taking suo moto action, Meghalaya police have replaced Borah .
