| Oman makes a mark at South Korea expo |
MUSCAT The Omani pavilion will conclude its activities after making a mark in its three months of participation at the Expo 2012 Yeosu in South Korea. The exhibition will conclude on Sunday.
The conclusion ceremony will be attended by HE Mohsin Bin Khamees Al Balushi, an adviser at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the general commissioner of the Omani pavilion at the expo, along with HE Mohammed Bin Salem Al Harthy, the Sultanate’s Ambassador accredited to S. Korea, and Ali Bin Amer Al Kaiomi, director-general of environment protection at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs.
The final Yeosu statement as well as the host country of the next expo and the top pavilions will be announced on Saturday. The concluding ceremony will be attended by the South Korean president and several world leaders and representatives of the 105 participating countries.
Al Balushi said the number of visitors to the Sultanate pavilion might come to 517,000 by Sunday. He said 7.6 million people visited the Yeosu Expo till last week. “The organisers and evaluation committees have appreciated the Sultanate pavilion’s participation,” he added.
