| Forum on power distribution systems to be held |
SALALAH The Sultanate will host the third Conference on Electrical Power Distribution, in Salalah in the Governorate of Dhofar, from August 28.
HE Sayyid Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, will patronise over the opening ceremony of the two-day forum.
Titled ‘Smart Systems in Electricity Distribution Service Sector’, the forum is organised by the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) in cooperation with the Arab Union of Electricity.
The forum will discuss the latest smart system technologies in electricity distribution and the experience of Arab countries in the field, said Dr Ali Bin Hamed Al Ghafri, PAEW Assistant Chairman for International Relations and Media, Head of the Organising Committee.
It will include 24 working papers on experiences of countries with regard to electrical faults, performance control, and development of electricity distribution system using Geographic Information System (GIS) applications and remote control systems. It will discuss application of total resources planning in government establishments, study of load expectations on electrical distribution networks, analysis of faults of medium voltage (MV) networks and study of relationship management systems with players in the electricity sector.
Experts from the Sultanate and Arab countries will discuss successful experiences of Arab countries in the field of electricity distribution, Al Ghafri said.
An exhibition on the sidelines of the event will showcase electrical equipments from local factories and companies.
