| HM issues decree to amend municipal law |
MUSCAT His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said issued a Royal Decree No. 43/ 2012 amending some provisions of the Municipal Councils Law.
Article One: The text of the sub article (2) of article (5) of the aforesaid Municipal Councils Law shall be replaced with the following text: ‘2- Head of Dhofar Municipality for Governorate of Dhofar ‘.
Article Two: The text of the sub article (2) of article (11) of the aforesaid Municipal Councils Law shall be replaced with the following text: ‘The Deputy Chairman of the Council for the Governorates of Muscat and Dhofar shall be one of the walis selected by the Governor’.
Article Three: The Decree comes into force from the day following its date of publishing.
