| Accident claims 7 lives in Rustaq |
RUSTAQ Seven people were killed and five others injured in a collision involving three vehicles in Khafdi in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq in the Governorate of South Al Batinah late on Tuesday.
It occurred when one of two vehicles moving on the same lane from the Wilayat of Ibri towards Al Rustaq collided with another vehicle that skidded off the opposite lane. The first vehicle swivelled around, ran into the vehicle behind it, hit a mountain side, broke into two halves and caught fire.
Policemen who rushed to the scene upon receiving the call recovered the bodies from the wreckage and rushed the injured to Al Rustaq Hospital.
The Royal Oman Police has called on drivers to abide by traffic rules, exercise caution while driving, observe speed-limit and take breaks while driving.
