Board okays tenders worth 185.92m rials
MUSCAT The Tender Board on Wednesday awarded projects worth 185,924,079 rials at its 22nd meeting for 2012 held under the chairmanship of HE Dr Rasheed Bin Al Safi Al Huraibi, Chairman of the Tender Board.   

The Board awarded the following projects:   

n Construction of Al Batinah Southern Expressway -second package (123,223,173 rials).   

n Construction of water supply line from the desalination plant in Al Ghubra to the water tank in Muscat in the Governorate of Muscat (30,766,786 rials).   

n Construction of fishing harbour in the Wilayat of Barka in the Governorate of South Al Batinah (10,913,437 rials).    

n Construction of water network in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq in the Governorate of South Al Batinah (first stage) (9,408,917 rials).    

n Design and implementation of internal roads for northern areas of the ring road in Salalah in the Governorate of Dhofar (2,838,709 rials).   

n Coastal erosion protection works in Widam Al Sahel in the Wilayat of Al Musannah in the Governorate of South Al Batinah (1,752,976 rials).   

n Operation and maintenance of underground assets of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (water transportation and distribution networks) in the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah, Masirah (1,778,040 rials).  

n Operation and maintenance of underground assets of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (water transportation and distribution networks) in the Governorate of North Al Batinah (1,590,755 rials).    

n Operation and maintenance of the supra assets of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (water wells, water treatment plants, water tanks, pumping plants, water tankers, filling stations and buildings) in the Governorate of Musandam (1,387,448 rials).  

n Additional works for the supply of consultancy services for the water transportation line from the Wilayat of Sumail to the Wilayat of Izki in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah (513,731 rials).    

n Additional works for the maintenance and repair of roads that have been damaged by the adverse weather conditions in the Wilayat of Bidbid in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah (39,411 rials).    

n Additional works for warehouses of Oman Electricity Transmission Company in Al Mawaleh in the Wilayat of Al Seeb in the Governorate of Muscat (52,131 rials).   

n Additional works for the expansion of Nizwa Industrial Estate (second and third stages) (1,194,185 rials).    

n Extension of health insurance for Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals Company’s staff (463,380 rials).  

The Board opened bids for a number of projects, such as building, operation and possession of a new water desalination plant in Al Ghubra in the Governorate of Muscat, construction of Wadi Al Minqal road in Wadi Bani Jabir in the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah, improving the efficiency of Sinaw-Mahout- Al Duqm road (second and third part), architectural design competition, provision of consultancy services for the design and supervision of a building for the Civil Service Employees Pension Fund in the Airport Heights in the Wilayat of Bausher in the Governorate of Muscat and the construction of building complex for the Research Council in Al Khoudh in the Wilayat of Al Seeb in the Governorate of Muscat (first stage).
