8th Nawras Goodwill Journey concludes
MUSCAT The third day of the second leg of Nawras Goodwill Journey 8 left the Wilayat of Al Qabel in Al Sharqiyah North governorate early morning on Monday to Himaand Al Jazerin Al Wusta governorate.

At Hima and Al Jazer the convoy was received by Salim Bin Mohammed Al Mahrooqi, Director-General of Directory-General of Social Development in Al Wusta.

The members of the Nawras Goodwill Journey donated items like home appliances including cooking range, freezers, washing machine and air conditioners and special needs requirements including wheelchairs and headphones for the hearing impaired.

“It’s wonderful to see a group of young men and women working hand in hand for a great cause such as this,” said Salim Al Mahrooqi. “It’s good to see the telecommunication company supporting low-income people around the Sultanate especially Omani Women’s Association.”

Al Mahrooqi said the Al Wusta governorate needs social support from government and private sectors to develop the society and provide social needs. “We thank the volunteers and Nawras Goodwill Journey visiting Al Wusta governorate and supporting the people,” Mahrooqi said.

Omer Bin Juma Al Naimi said, “I am happy to participate in the Nawras Goodwill Journey. It is a great feeling when you cover a hundred kilometres from my town and play with children and interact with them.”

Haitham Bin Khalid Al Zadjali of customer services said, “I am happy to be in the convoy and supporting OWA in all places. When we play with children in Bidiyah and see their smiles we forget the tiring journey.”

Moving from Hima, the next stop on the journey visited the OWA in the Wilayat of Rakhyoot and Dhalkoot in Dhofar governorate. It was received by Tafool Al Jahfali, head of the Omani Women’s Association in the Wilayat of Rakhyoot and Dhalkoot. The Nawras team distributed electronic machine to OWA in Rakhyoot and Dhalkoot.

Azhar Bint Nasser Al Rawahi, a volunteer from Ministry of  Social Development, expressed joy at being part of the journey. “This is the second time I will be in Nawras Goodwill Journey and I am happy to see smiling faces of children. I continue to join the journey as it spreads smiles everywhere,” she said.

The journey concluded covering more than 440km to spread the message of love and brotherhood during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
