| Ministry gives Samail castle a face-lift |

SAMAIL The Ministry of Heritage and Culture recently carried out restoration work at the Samail Hosn (Castle of Samail).
An Omani architectural and historic landmark and a tourist attraction, the castle is expected to be opened soon.
Restoration work had begun in the upper areas of the fort and at the towers.
Work on the wall connecting the two towers was the most difficult and time-consuming as it required lifting repair material to a height of more than 70 metres.
The work was carried out in moderate weather to make it easier for workers. The restoration work is aimed at preserving the archaeological components of the building using raw materials similar to those used in the past.
