KANNUR Elaborate security arrangement prevented Communist Party of India –Marxist (CPM) party workers from creating ruckus when CPM district secretary P Jayarajan appeared before the probe team investigating the murder of Muslim League activist Abdul Shukkoor.
Jayarajan, who had been skipping the interrogation, had to appear before the probe team at the government guest house in Kannur on Monday.
Police had received reports that the CPM cadres would resort to violence.
Instead, they were welcomed by the abusive words from CPM state secretariat member MV Jayarajan. MV Jayarajan, who had been sentenced to one-week jail term for abusing judges in public, did not spare deputy superintendent of police (DySP) Sukumaran. He showered abuses on the DySP in the presence of Kannur district superintendent of police (DSP) Rahul R. Nair. The DSP told Oman Tribune that a case would be registered against MV Jayarajan for threatening the DySP.
“We patiently waited and watched him so that the entire world would know his real make up. The entire episode being recorded live would help us to take necessary action,” he said.
The CPM leaders later told reporters that the police had created a terrifying atmosphere at the guest house.
