| Ramadan to begin on July 21 |

MUSCAT The accurate astronomical calculations for the planetary motion of sun, earth, and the moon and also other planets show that the crescent of the Holy Month of Ramadan for the year 1433 Hijri will rise at 8:25am on July 19 (local time).
So the moon sighting will be impossible in all governorates of the Sultanate and all Arab and Islamic countries (Iraq and and parts of the Arabian Peninsula) because the moon will set before the sunset, while in the rest of the Arab world, the sighting will be impossible because the moon will set at the same time of the sunset or after within few minutes, which makes it impossible to see the crescent even by the largest astronomical telescopes.
The sightseeing for the crescent in the Sultanate will be impossible on July 19 in all governorates of the Sultanate as the crescent will set after two minutes of the sunset on that day while it could be noticed in the Sultanate’s sky easily on July 20 in most governorates of the Sultanate where it will stay in the sky for 44 minutes after the sunset.
Based on this the first day of Ramadan for the year 1433 Hijri will be on July 21.
