| Ministry to get UN award for mother, child welfare projects |
MUSCAT The Health Ministry will receive the United Nations Public Service Award for 2012 (UNPSA) next week.
It is for promoting elimination of gender disparities in public services for its e-project ‘Maternal and Child Welfare Programme’, which is affiliated to the Shifa system.
The Maternal and Child Welfare Programme, designed by the Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Information Technology, is an advanced programme for the health system and society in general.
It consists of two parts. Another is the woman health programme, which includes health services for women during pregnancy and beyond.
The Sultanate’s participation in the United Nations Award for Public Service with the support of senior management of the ministry is part of cooperation with the Information Technology Authority, which selects the best projects in the Sultanate and nominates them for the contest, especially projects that serve community.
