MUSCAT Three more former students of Indian School Al Ghubra (ISG) have been chosen to attend the High School Presidential Inaugural Conference in the US.
The students are attending the event — to be held by the Congressional Youth Leaders Conference next year — as alumni of the Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC).
Bhagyashree Gupte, Waleed Ali Siddiq and Akshay Deshmukh will attend the special keynote speaker presentations by Condoleezza Rice, former US secretary of state and national security adviser to the president, and General Wesley Clark, former Nato Supreme Allied Commander.
Gupte, from ISG 2011 batch, is pursuing BS in computer science at the University of California. He has been participating in all activities of the Round Square International Conference, including the Student Exchange Programme to Australia and the Service Project at Ladakh.
Siddiq, also of the 2011 batch, is studying engineering at Anna University in Chennai, India. He has a good academic record and has been a contributor at the GYLC.
Deshmukh, who finished school from ISG in March 2012 with excellent grades and third rank in the science stream, was the ISG representative of the Round Square International Services for 2011-2012.
Earlier, Fahd Rayees, a school prefect and student of class 12, was invited to the event.
