ISLAMABAD Defence Secretary Nargis Sethi and Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Khushnood Lashari on Wednesday appeared before the Supreme Court bench hearing the Balochistan law and order case, DawnNews reported.
A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Jawad S. Khwaja was hearing a petition on the law and order situation and human rights violations in Balochistan at its Quetta registry.
During the hearing, the chief justice again termed the province’s security situation as alarming. He said the provincial capital of Quetta had no-go areas and that police officers were not willing to work in Balochistan.
The Chief Justice said that the province’s security situation had become so alarming that it was time the prime minister summoned the province’s governor and chief minister.
