Roll back power tariff hike: DMDK
Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) leader Vijayakanth has demanded total rollback of power tariff hike. Addressing a party meeting, Vijayakanth lashed out at the government for the partial rollback of tariff hike. He demanded that the government should withdraw the hike totally. Vijayakanth has charged the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam with denying a fair chance for the opposition party to raise public issues on the floor of the assembly, forcing his party to approach people’s forum to condemn the government. The DMDK was an ally of the AIADMK until recently.

Asin declines to act with Shahid

Shahid Kapoor has been signed on by a Mumbai production house to act in the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Vettai. And we hear that Asin was approached to play his co-star in the Hindi version which will be also be directed by Lingusamy. Asin was not happy with the offer considering the fact that she heard that the reason they approached her was that she is from the south and so they felt they could get her on board more easily. Asin has apparently proclaimed that when she is acting with the likes of Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, why should she agree to star with Shahid. She was also apparently not keen on playing anyone’s sister (the Tamil film starred Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul, where the two actresses played sisters). And to think we were just saying that her attitude has changed.

Brazilian model to act in movie

Brazilian model Gabriela Bertante will soon be seen in an item number in Ajith’s Billa 2. She has apparently met director Chakri Toleti, when he was casting for an earlier movie and he promised her this role. The song, which has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, was picturised in Goa and a studio in Mumbai. Gabriela is also doing another item number in a Telugu film.
